HAPKE LAW OFFICE, Peter Hapke

Peter brings more than 31 years of experience practicing environmental law. His practice focuses on helping clients comply with federal and state hazardous waste laws and defending clients at federal and state Superfund sites.   Peter has extensive experience in the Washington State Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) compliance, cleanup and cost recovery, Clean Water Act storm water compliance and environmental insurance recovery.

 

Since 2005, Peter has been in private practice in Seattle focusing on helping clients resolve all legal issues related to contaminated properties – purchase and sale negotiation, cleanup and cost recovery.   Peter takes a very strategic and cost efficient approach to solving his clients’ environmental legal problems. He is often asked to lecture on resolving legal issues related to contaminated real estate and negotiating environmental provisions in purchase and sale agreements.  Peter’s prior experience includes being Environmental Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at The Boeing Company, a Senior Assistant City Attorney in the Seattle City Attorney’s Office, several years in private practice, and an Honor Program Staff Attorney at the US Department of Agriculture.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Peter and his wife and three young children live in Seattle.  He enjoys the outdoor activities that the Pacific Northwest offers, including hiking, skiing and bicycling, as well as Seattle’s rich cultural offerings.
